I never thought I'd be a model...

but here I am taking photos of myself wearing my jewelry. I feel like a real dork doing it, but I don't have any other ladies hanging around my house willing to let me photograph them on a whim. So there you go! Tips for self-portraits
1. Start with a halfway decent camera
2. Take a ton of pictures
3. Choose the best one
4. Doctor it up in iphoto

Okay, the giveaway. I'm giving away two 'dream BIG' necklaces (not giving away either boy this month, Penny, but if you'd like to borrow one or both we can arrange that!) Leave a comment telling us what you are 'dreaming BIG' about. I'll choose a winner Wednesday.

The chain is 24". Not long enough to slip of your head, but hangs at the bust. These will be on sale for the month of Aug. for $32.

Someone asked for a photo of this one being worn, so, here is the oval 'sister' necklace with large link chain. It hangs about 16.5" but I can cut the chain to a longer length if needed. This one is $52

The CdLS fundraiser ends tomorrow and I am so excited that we have sold 46 necklaces. That is just plain INCREDIBLE! Thanks everybody!!

Okay, as silly as this may sound compared to what others will post: I'm dreamin' big that I will finally find the perfect planner/agenda for my life! Can't find one that works. LOL

Lately I've been wishing that my dearest friend and her family, who live in Oklahoma, would move a little bit closer to my home state, Washington. I'd love for our girls to grow up together, or at least see each other on a more consistent basis. Definitely fits the order of 'Dream Big.'

What I'm dreaming big about, is the upcoming opening of our quilt shop. It's been a life long dream for my Mom to have a "little shop to piddle around in" and so I'm trying my very best to make it one that will be successful. She has suffered from diabetes, a heart attack and now CHF...... it keeps her a bit depressed and worries us so. But, since dreaming up this great idea of ours to open this shop, she has perked up so much! It has given her something to look forward to and has given her a purpose once again.

And so, come September with my Mom, sister, and my little daughter........ this "big" undertaking will begin. The "dream" will be for my Mom. (And a bit from us too!).

My big dream right now is to get my home in order before my mom comes this weekend, so I can show her that I can successfully keep house too! That and it would be nice to have everything in it's place since we have been in our place for 3 weeks with me not working, so by all rights I should have it all put away by now!!

I'm dreaming big that this will be the best school year yet. That the new team I am joining will be as receptive and welcoming to inclusion as my unbeatable team last year. That the children will be adorable, as always, and that I will love them as much as I always do. I'm dreaming of a year when I won't lose one of them, as I have the past two years, but that if it does happen, my dream is that they will be safe and happy.

Right now I am dreaming my husband can find a better job. He is so talented and worth so much more than what he is getting paid. He works so hard for our family. We struggle from paycheck to paycheck. I am encouraging him to "Dream Big" and believe in himself. I sure do!!

By the way, I love your site and all your pictures! You always look so happy!!

Dreaming big about just one thing is just hard for me :) I have two things, both are things I pray about daily, and I know God will Bless us with answeres to both, but here they are:
1) For my brother and his wife to finaly have a baby that they have been longing for for 4 years now!
and
2) That my girls would both grow up healthy and strong and not have to deal with the same horrible dieasae I have had to battle in my own life.
These are huge dreams of mine and I cant wait for them to become reality!

Since I've already been blessed enough to be a winner of your fabulous jewelry though Design Mom, if by some crazy chance I win again, this dream BIG necklace will go to my sister Nicole. She is a graduate student, finishing up her thesis - what's extra fabulous about Nicole is that she made it into a very difficult creative writing program at a private university. She is a novelist in the truest sense of the word - highly creative, has a great command over the English language and knows how to write incredibly memorable characters. Her thesis chair is confident that her book will be published, which is so exciting! She is such an example to me of dreaming BIG and I know she would cherish this necklace. We'll see if my luck pulls through for her!

I have already won once, so don't count this one in your tally (LOVE my necklace, btw!) but I wanted to let you know that your pics have SO inspired me to do some 'self-portraits' of my own..and MAN am I having fun!!

Thanks Lisa!

Hi Lisa

I love your jewelry and I am just thinking about which Portuguese words I would like to have written on one of them to order a beautiful necklace from you.

I dreamed big 3 years ago when I decided to leave my country (Brazil), my language, my family, friends and Law School to move to Canada to get married with my wonderful Canadian husband. Everybody thought I was either too crazy or too brave (or both) but I followed my big dream and here I am living in Calgary and LOVING IT. Missing my country, my family, my friends and not missing Law School as much as I thought I would ! ha !

Congratulations on your beautiful boys, they are just A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E , I love the pictures of them on their swimming suits. How cute.

Hugs
Rita Correa

My oldest daughter (she's 20) will be a junior this coming year in college - still no major. I dream she will find not only her major but her nitch in life. She is doing what I didnt do (go to college) as I was a young (17 years old) single mom. I am so proud of all she's done so far but know there are great things that lie ahead for her. She just needs to belive it too.

Dreaming big dreams about our newest arrival, baby Violet who has only been part of our family for 2 weeks now. Only 14 days but she's been growing in my heart for years. Cheesy, yes. I'm sleep deprived and on cloud nine. Plus I haven't had a shower in 48 hours and I have dirty dishes stacked up like a Jenga tower, so I'm dreaming about what Violet will become someday rather than face smelly reality. ;)

Hi Lisa. There are so many things I dream about that's it's hard to pick one!! However, when I first read your post for today I immediately thought about our dream to get out of debt and build a house some day on my in-laws farmland. I know it's been a dream of my husband's for a LONG, LONG time and hopefully it will come true some day. Thanks Lisa!!

After reading the other posted dreams, mine are rather silly, but... I dream about being diaper free! (Can you tell 3 in diapers is taking its toll?) My selfish dream is to be a writer someday.

I haven't read the others, for fear I'd chicken out ~ I am dreaming BIG that the love my husband and I once shared for 10 years will return. It doesn't have to be the same as it was...THAT couldn't even happen! After the birth of our daughter (after trying for 6 years) and the loss of my MIL, FIL and BIL all within 2.5 years, somewhere along the way, we lost sight of each other. We each struggled to make it through each day...DH with his losses, and me with my fresh joy and the happy exhaustion that goes hand in hand with a baby(esp. when Drs told me I wouldn't be able to have one!). We lost so much... hope, love and family that we also wound up losing each other... but *I* also know we gained SO much. Perhaps he'll be able to see that. I'd love for our love to return, that's my wish...

I think my big dream now would be that a baby named Hope could show the doctors that even with their degrees and their text books God still show us miracles! Hope's Mommy didn't even know she was pregnant until she was 11weeks along, long story so I'll try to sum it up...

There was a tear in the ammiotic sac and the Drs were surprise the pregnancy wasn't already over. Fast forward...Hope's Mommy makes it to 22 weeks completely unheard of and is hospitalized and put on complete bedrest....fast forward Hope is now 32 weeks gestation it's time to bring this angel into the world...Hope survived the entire pregnancy with little to no ammiotic fluid. She is now 2 months old and the docs are getting very discouraged. Hope has been living on a vent and has no lower body movement. The docs think it is nerological. (My heart is breaking as I am writing this). The don't think she will survive more than another month or two. Baby Hope is my big dream. I dream that her Mommy and Daddy and big brother can bring her home. That she will continue to amaze the docs after all she shouldn't have even made it this far. I'm a mother, I know what it is like to long for a heathly baby. I have 10 1/2 month old twins and they spent 10 days in the NICU. No major problems but nonetheless scary. My dream is for Baby Hope.

Yu can read some of Hope story and she her picture on a site my friend has.

I'm dreaming big (and ALL THE TIME) about the baby my husband and I are trying to have. It's been 3 months since a miscarriage, and we've been trying for a few weeks. I wish those pregnancy tests could tell me something a little sooner! Love all your jewelry, it is fabulous!

Dreaming big was buying my first house with an August 8th closing date, and getting married August 18. All while 6 months pregnant. (I think of it as dreaming big so as to ignore how crazy I am!)

Congrats on the fundraising! Great job.

what i'm dreaming big about...
having a second child. 2 years of trying and infertility treatment brought us our incredible almost-3-year-old son, and then an out of the blue pregnancy ended with a miscarriage. my son just melts around babies - he's totally fascinated by them! i want him to experience being a big brother... that, right now, is my Big Dream.

I'm dreaming BIG this month about my long awaited baby. After three miscarriages and a really rough beginning, my pregnancy is now 34 weeks along, and our baby girl should be making her appearance in about 6 weeks! I can't stop dreaming about touching her tiny little toes, seeing if she has red hair (like her dad) and holding her for the first time. This is truly one of my BIGGEST dreams, coming true.

I just came back here this evening to see everyone's big dreams and I am overwhelmed by the very personal thoughts we have all shared. WOW! My heart goes out to all of you who are dreaming of babies after miscarriage, I too suffered a miscarriage and understand the pain. Thanks for a place to share a little of what is happening in our lives. Your jewelry is amazing!

My whole dream is too big to write here (Believe me, it would take a whole blog to explain) but the general wrap-up.... I dream of creating a nice quiet peaceful and secure future for myself. I just turned 40, newly single after 20 years of marriage, facing an empty nest (my last kid just graduated), unemployed, and still trying to put my house back together from Katrina (It has been a very long 2 years). I just jumped into portrait photography full-time in an attempt to support myself and I'm setting up my studio again where I do lampwork beadmaking, glass fusing, and metalwork to make jewelry (as well as a little stained glass, mosaics, and scrapbooking). Between my new photography business and my resurrected jewelry business, I know I'm going to be ok. At least that's my dream.
