it's the little things...

like a snuggle, or unexpected hug, the warm sun, sleeping an extra 15 minutes, iced coffee (it's 90 degrees today), chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven, belly laughing over something silly, catching up with an old friend or sister, ordering in, or eating out.

today i need to slow down and enjoy some of these little things. what little things do you enjoy??

Sweet text messages from my boyfriend. Especially, the "I love you" ones. Phone calls from him, "just to hear my voice". My sweet dog, Milo. His happy personality. Sunny days.

Taking my 22 month old to swimming lessons and having him trust me enough to jump into my arms. ...hugging my adopted daughter today...she is from the Chengdu, China, area of Sichuan and God chose to give her to us...seeing her smile is priceless...

clean sheets on my bed, both our girls home at the same time, a good mocha every morning to start my day, a surprise Snapdragon peeking out between a wall and our rock garden.

one of my favorite little things is when my son, a kindergartner, sees me at school (I'm a teacher) and throws me a kiss and a hug

Opening the windows in the morning to cool down the house for the day (it was 87 here today...and 91 expected tomorrow)...watching the ducks fly overhead still returning home while waiting for my son to get out of school...noticing my daughter's mud streaked skort because they had water play at preschool...all signs of summer ahead.

Today I folded laundry on the patio while I watched my kids play in the little blow up pool. I loved relaxing to the sound of my children's laughter along with the windchimes chiming in the breeze and being productive all at the same time. The scenery of them jumping and smiling was also beautiful.

My favourite time of the day is when the house is empty and I can enjoy my breakfast, a glass of fresh squeezed orange juice and the paper.

Being hugged... I miss that the most when my husband is on one of his long business trips... I think I am touch deprived right now!
Touch is one of the little things I enjoy!

How proud my 5 year old was to lose his first tooth yesterday, sweet snuggles from my 2 year old, unexpected calls from great friends just to tell me they miss me...and we need to do lunch. The sound of my grandmothers voice, forehead kisses, and sunshine!

having time to read 6 chapters in one night just to finish a good book, a night of scrapbooking, ordering in chinese after a long day, finding the perfect lighting for that perfect picture, hugging my man after not seeing him all day, seeing my nieces and nephews excitement as they run up to hug me, and feeling the stress unwind as I sit with my Bible to give it all to the Lord. Just a few...but I loved that post...thanks!

P.S. I showed my friend your site, and she already got something of yours...stackable rings for mother's day...I was soo jealous...my man just doesn't get hints as well as hers. : )

YOur slap slaps look JUST like ones I have had for 18+ years now that I bought in a little german village in California. Basic shoes that are STILL going strong, had them on yesterday in fact. Be well!
